St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon, is a national leader in heart, cancer, and orthopedic care.
Its unique healing environment and innovative approaches to care of the whole person (mind, body and spirit), hospital management, and quality improvements are widely acclaimed. St. Charles is the home of the Association of Healing Health Care Projects. It is the recipient of the Norman Cousins Award from the Fetzer Institute.
St. Charles broadcasts both The C.A.R.E. Channel and C.A.R.E. with Guided Imagery on its patient televisions, in addition to broadcasting C.A.R.E. with Music on an audio system customized designed by HHS. HHS Co-Founders Susan Mazer and Dallas Smith have also provided educational programs, done a meditation project, and recorded a special CD titled, "The Dance of Life," for St. Charles.
